Therapeutic Interventions For Parents

Presented by Jeanette Yoffe, M.A., M.F.T.

A Training for Parents, Caregivers and Professionals. Sponsored by Post Adoption Services (PAS)

This training is designed to familiarize participants with new and imaginative ways for working with children in foster care and adoption. Parents will learn new and alternative interventions, to facilitate attachment, bonding and build stronger families. Participants will be provided with a wide variety of play-body-mind based methodologies and interventions that have been proven successful in working with children over the age of five in foster care and adoption. Participants will learn structured treatment activities, view examples, and receive a detailed handout explaining the goals of treatment, materials needed, and the “how to” approach for each methodology.

GOALS:

  • Learn how to set limits with trauma-attachment disordered children.
  • Developing attunement and maintaining attunement while communicating safety, fun, joy and love.
  • Effective therapeutic techniques to use with traumatized and attachment disordered children.
  • Effective parenting principals.
